چکیده

We consider a single server system with N input flows. We assume that each flow has stationary increments and satisfies a sample path large deviation principle, and that the system is stable. We introduce the largest weighted delay first (LWDF) queueing discipline associated with any given weight vector α = α1 αN . We show that under the LWDF discipline the sequence of scaled stationary distributions of the delay ŵi of each flow satisfies a large deviation principle with the rate function given by a finitedimensional optimization problem. We also prove that the LWDF discipline is optimal in the sense that it maximizes the quantity

Fair Scheduling Algorithm in Lte-advanced Networks

The Long Term Evolution Advanced (LTE-Advanced) transmission bandwidth can be expanded by Carrier Aggregation (CA), where CA technology expands effective bandwidth supported to User Equipment (UE) by utilizing of radio resources across multiple carriers. Recently, many studies have been conducted on the radio resource allocation with CA. However, most of these studies are based on Proportional ...

Due-Date Scheduling: Asymptotic Optimality of Generalized Longest Queue and Generalized Largest Delay Rules

Consider the following due-date scheduling problem in a multiclass, acyclic, single-station service system: Any class k job arriving at time t must be served by its due date t+Dk. Equivalently, its delay k must not exceed a given delay or lead-time Dk. In a stochastic system, the constraint k Dk must be interpreted in a probabilistic sense. Regardless of the precise probabilistic formulation, h...

Large Deviations of Queues Sharing a Randomly Time-Varying Server

We consider a discrete-time model where multiple queues, each with its own exogenous arrival process, are served by a server whose capacity varies randomly and asynchronously with respect to di erent queues. This model is primarily motivated by the problem of eÆcient scheduling of transmissions of multiple data ows sharing a wireless channel. We address the following problem of controlling larg...

A New ILP Model for Identical Parallel-Machine Scheduling with Family Setup Times Minimizing the Total Weighted Flow Time by a Genetic Algorithm

This paper presents a novel, integer-linear programming (ILP) model for an identical parallel-machine scheduling problem with family setup times that minimizes the total weighted flow time (TWFT). Some researchers have addressed parallel-machine scheduling problems in the literature over the last three decades. However, the existing studies have been limited to the research of independent jobs,...

Delay and Throughput Optimal Scheduling for OFDM Broadcast Channels

In this paper a scheduling policy is presented which minimizes the average delay of the users. The scheduling scheme is investigated both by analysis and simulations carried out in the context of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) broadcast channels (BC). First the delay optimality is obtained for a static scenario providing solutions for specific subproblems, then the analysis i...
